Which political significance does the administrative staff of international security organisations dealing with prevention and intervention actually have?
Why do states use international organisations in the field of security politics instead of acting unilaterally?

International security organisations are compliable executives on the leading-string of states or influential actors with a scope for design?

The project focuses on the development of international prevention and intervention efforts. They can be regarded as a shift of security politics from the national to the international level (internationalisation) that is increasingly taking place since the end of the Cold War. These efforts also show features of privatisation as private actors are increasingly involved in those measures. In this respect certain responsibilities are outsourced from national ministries.

The first phase of the subproject is directed towards the genesis of those politics in the context of international security organisations (UN, OSCE, EU, NATO) and non-state actors (such as aid organisations, NGOs). The second phase deals with the explanation of the described phenomena.
